Job description

JOB PURPOSE:

Plan, control, and direct the Marine Services division activities. Issue and update marine procedures and implement them. Provide specialist advice to SVPO and DMOs regarding all marine-related issues. Establish and monitor maintenance plans for all marine or marine-related equipment. Interface with all relevant parties, including ministries, contracting organizations, and classification bodies.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Job Specific Accountabilities:

  • Plan, control, and direct all activities of the Marine Services Department staff.
  • Ensure the location approval process is executed as per ADNOC Drilling standard procedures.
  • Obtain or receive manuals, updates, and publications related to new or amended regulations from worldwide organizations. Interpret these manuals to ensure ADNOC Drilling complies and makes necessary modifications to rigs, including SOLAS and MARPOL standards.
  • Establish plans for classification-related surveys, inspections, and repairs for the offshore fleet. Track surveys and issue directives for preparatory work, ensuring rigs retain their class status.
  • Represent the organization at meetings with clients, government ministries, and official bodies to ensure vessel compliance with laws and regulations. Make written and personal representations to demonstrate compliance and readiness for operation globally.
  • Establish budgets for rig repairs and modifications necessary for classification. Project costs, review tenders technically, and ensure hull and marine repairs use correct materials to maintain rig integrity.

Education & Qualifications:

  • Minimum Qualification: B.Sc. in Engineering (preferably Petroleum, Marine, or Mechanical) plus Masters (Unlimited) or F.G.

Experience & Skills:

  • 15 years of diversified experience, including 5 years as a Senior Barge Captain/Engineer or Marine Specialist.
  • Solid experience in complex rig moves and knowledge of marine procedures.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Proficient in computer skills.

Professional Certifications:

  • Certificate of Competency in marine studies, obtained after 6 years at sea.
