Job Description
Responsible for overseeing the centralized governance, planning, and execution of global submarine & cross border international cable projects to deliver scalable, reliable, and cost-effective connectivity solutions in support of AI, cloud, and data-driven industries. Responsible for establishing a robust PMO framework, overseeing cross-functional teams, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with technical, regulatory, and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership:
- Ensure international subsea and cross border cable projects align with the organization's long-term AI goals by providing reliable, high-speed connectivity essential for AI applications.
- Align project portfolios with corporate strategy, prioritizing routes critical to AI, hyperscale cloud, and emerging markets.
- Oversee resource utilization and budget management, supporting AI projects efficiently.
- Develop and execute strategic roadmaps for international submarine and cross border cable initiatives.
- Implement a robust PMO framework to ensure process standardization and operational efficiency.
- Provide guidance on emerging technologies and industry trends in submarine cable systems.
Project Management
- Define project scopes, objectives, budgets, and timelines, adhering to company standards.
- Manage the full lifecycle of submarine cable projects, including feasibility, planning, permitting, installation, testing, and commissioning, ensuring technical standards and system reliability.
- Coordinate multiple projects, managing resources, budgets, and schedules effectively.
- Implement risk management strategies for projects.
- Oversee upgrades to support increasing data traffic driven by AI, focusing on low-latency and high-bandwidth requirements.
- Lead the integration of advanced technologies into cable systems to support AI data processing and transfer.
- Design projects with strong security features for sensitive AI data.
Vendors & Suppliers Management
- Coordinate tender processes for new projects.
- Negotiate contracts, evaluate offers, and ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
- Manage relationships with stakeholders, vendors, contractors, and industry forums.
Budgeting & Financial Management
- Develop and monitor project budgets.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and track expenditures.
- Report financial status to senior management.
Compliance, Quality, and Risk Management
- Develop risk mitigation strategies against natural and geopolitical threats.
- Implement quality assurance and control plans.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Engineering, Legal, Finance, and Regulatory teams for permits, contracts, and technical challenges.
- Coordinate with project owners for site access and logistics.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with local and international standards.
- Align with internal teams for capacity planning and project updates.
Process Optimization, Innovation, Support & Reporting
- Develop processes to improve efficiency and customer experience.
- Establish KPIs and benchmarks for PMO performance.
- Drive innovation with next-gen submarine cable technologies and AI integration for network optimization and predictive maintenance.
- Lead the transition of projects into operational phases, including maintenance and monitoring.
- Provide regular reports on project status, financials, and risks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Proven experience (10+ years) in the subsea cable industry.
