Position Summary

We are looking for a Government Relations and CSR Manager to join our Global Relations department to:

  • Develop and enhance Samsung's relationships with governments across the MENA region to proactively identify, assess, and manage risks and opportunities arising from governmental activities, policies, and regulations.
  • Contribute to creating a conducive policy environment that enables Samsung to prosper and grow in the region.
  • Plan and execute social responsibility activities and sustainability initiatives to mitigate potential business risks and enhance corporate reputation.
  • Promote social development through impactful CSR activities.
Role and Responsibilities
Pro-active Monitoring and Analysis
  • Prepare weekly policy monitoring reports on government developments in MENA.
  • Conduct detailed ad hoc analyses on relevant issues for Samsung.
  • Assess policies, laws, regulations, and political movements to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Gather information on public investments and strategic projects to identify B2G and B2B opportunities.
  • Maintain an up-to-date policy sensing dashboard on key areas like taxation, environment, trade, digital economy, data privacy, and standards.
Stakeholder Engagement and Networking
  • Evaluate the influence of key stakeholders regularly.
  • Develop engagement plans to build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Engage directly with government officials on urgent issues.
  • Advise on government relations and external affairs for projects in MENA.
  • Support strategic thinking to unlock new engagement opportunities.
  • Maintain political awareness in key countries like UAE, KSA, Egypt, Morocco, Jordan, etc.
  • Prepare communication materials for stakeholder engagement.
Advocacy
  • Implement advocacy plans collaboratively with country teams.
  • Represent Samsung in forums across MENA on policy issues.
  • Support subsidiaries in developing advocacy strategies.
Internal and External Communication
  • Build crisis communication and strategic messaging capabilities.
  • Provide strategic support to subsidiaries and colleagues in MENA.
  • Collaborate with HR and PR teams on newsletters, social media, and CSR website content.
  • Maintain relationships with internal teams like Marketing, Legal, and CSR.
Skills and Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in international companies, consulting, or public sector institutions.
  • Strong background in the MENA region, including UAE, KSA, Egypt, Morocco, Jordan.
  • Experience in technology, FMCG, regulated industries, or public affairs is a plus.
  • High analytical skills for policy review, advocacy, and geopolitical analysis.
  • Hands-on knowledge of public policy development, advocacy, and public affairs.
  • Extensive network with governments in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and other key countries.
  • Experience in developing and executing GR strategies and plans.
  • Knowledge of policy and regulation assessments.
  • Ability to coach senior leaders in public speaking and stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation), especially with the public sector.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • University degree; Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven ability to balance corporate responsibilities with project management.
  • Ability to work diligently under deadlines and communicate complex issues clearly.
