The role involves:

  1. Preparing and submitting Mashreq Bank Group financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local regulations, including external audits, publication, and printing of audited financial results.
  2. Developing and implementing approved accounting policies (APPM) within the Mashreqbank Group, ensuring monitoring through controls and regular updates.
  3. Managing the bank's Chart of Accounts and general ledger activities, including general ledgers, products, cost centers, project codes, etc.
  4. Reviewing and analyzing new General Ledger requirements and product documentation, and arranging account openings for the Group.
  5. Handling Head Office accounting functions.
  6. Preparing monthly consolidated group financial statements, including quarterly/reviewed and annual financials per IFRS.
  7. Coordinating with external auditors for quarterly and annual financials, audits, regulatory approvals, and publication of the Group's Annual Report, in line with UAE Central Bank guidelines and IFRS.
  8. Managing accounting functions, maintaining records for Head Office and related arrangements, and recording income from other sources.
  9. Reviewing and setting up new GL accounts in Flexcube and OGL, and managing inter-branch accounts.
  10. Supporting testing and implementation of new banking products, systems, or upgrades.
  11. Processing transactions and maintaining records of overseas branches' capital, P/L, reserves, and fund transfers.
  12. Preparing working papers and coordinating the issuance of Management Fee Certificates from external auditors for overseas branches.
  13. Designing and implementing IFRS reporting and consolidation systems in UAE and overseas branches to meet disclosure requirements.
  14. Reviewing audit engagement letters and invoices for accuracy.
  15. Assisting with the Annual General Meeting preparations, including reports, financials, and presentations.
  16. Supporting other functions like APPM preparation, voucher posting, auditor correspondence, and SOP updates.

The ideal candidate should be a Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, or ACCA with over 10 years of experience in financial reporting and accounting, with strong IFRS knowledge.

System knowledge of core banking applications like Flexcube is also required.
