Mortgage Specialist for Elite Banking

The role involves identifying and developing lending opportunities within the catchment area to increase the credit portfolio, streamline processes, maintain high credit administration standards, diagnose early warning signals, and enhance revenue from existing relationships by promoting higher utilization of sanctioned lines.

Accountabilities:

1. Manage the complete Elite Banking portfolio of clients with mortgage facilities.
2. Review mortgage applications from Sales & Distribution, ensuring documentation accuracy and compliance with bank policies.
3. Generate analytical and financial reports to assess creditworthiness and risk.
4. Prepare security documentation and coordinate with the Mortgage Unit for lodgement.
5. Interpret and communicate lending policies and procedures to the team.
6. Maximize revenue and customer value from the portfolio.
7. Ensure timely completion of tasks and adherence to service standards.
8. Develop planning techniques for business growth considering market and policy conditions.
9. Build and manage the client portfolio effectively.
10. Take responsibility for proposals and highlight early warning signals for remedial action.
11. Respond promptly to queries and ensure all proposal requirements are met.
12. Support business growth and client relationships through market awareness.
13. Deliver quality customer service, putting clients at the center.
14. Coordinate with other departments for smooth processing and approvals.
15. Perform any additional tasks assigned by management.
16. Proactively address past dues and non-performing accounts, recommending rescheduling or interest adjustments.
17. Maintain professionalism and suggest operational improvements.

Qualifications:

• University degree or equivalent.
• At least 10 years of experience in banking or related fields, with relevant academic qualifications.
• Technical knowledge from extensive experience across departments and ability to interact at all levels.
• Excellent communication skills and managerial style.
