Job description

Manager Development Events and Communications

This role plays a key part in driving growth and supporting IHG’s strategic goals in the IMEA business unit. The role is to support the design and execution of events and communications that drive perception, visibility and awareness of IHG with target audiences, strengthen owners’ relationships, and support IHG’s development team in signing new hotels and retain existing ones.

Key Accountabilities

  • Event Planning & Coordination:Develop, plan, and execute events from concept to completion, ensuring all aspects align with company goals.
  • Signing Events:Organize and manage signing ceremonies, ensuring all details, including venue setup, branding, guest invitations, and media coverage, are flawlessly executed to reflect the company's prestige.
  • Vendor Management:Liaise with vendors, suppliers, and venues to secure contracts, negotiate terms, and ensure timely delivery of services.
  • Promotion:Design and implement strategies to promote events, including digital / social media campaigns.
  • Stakeholder Communication:Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • On-Site Event Management:Oversee on-site event logistics, including setup, troubleshooting, and ensuring an exceptional guest experience.
  • Post-Event Analysis:Evaluate event or campaign success through metrics and feedback, providing recommendations for future improvements.
  • Budget Management:Manage budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness while delivering high-quality experiences.

Other

  • Source, develop, and maintain relevant content aligned with IHG’s Development strategy, working closely with the Development team.
  • Act as the central point of contact for IMEA Development team for relevant resources, ensuring timely updates and distribution of content.
  • Oversee the identification and maintenance of channels to enhance outreach to owners and investors for events.

Key Skills & Experiences

Education –

Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience in event management, PR, branding, or professional services within the hospitality and/or real estate sectors.

B2B and Owner relation management experience is essential

Experience –

5+ years

  • B2B event management, planning and execution
  • Of owner relation management
  • Of writing documents, reports and presentations for a sophisticated, commercially aware audience
  • Of planning and structuring business analysis and measure events and campaign success.
  • Of designing and writing compelling and visually attractive documents across a range of medium (PPT, InDesign, Adobe)

Technical Skills and Knowledge

  • Excellent written English. Arabic language strongly preferred.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks/clients in a highly dynamic and changing environment.
  • Strong level of personal and professional integrity
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, web-based applications and an openness
