Job summary

Etihad Airways in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Manager Crew Engagement to shape the performance, wellbeing, and career development of our cabin crew community. This role will influence the employee experience, champion crew engagement, and contribute to operational excellence across the business.

You will lead engagement initiatives, coach cabin crew to deliver outstanding guest experiences, design development programs, and oversee performance management.

Qualifications

• Degree from a recognized university or professional qualifications in business and people management desired.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in a people management role
• Experience as operating cabin crew is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example as a champion of service excellence, inspiring and coaching cabin crew to deliver outstanding guest experiences.
• Drive engagement and performance initiatives that motivate, develop, and empower our cabin crew workforce.
• Design and implement tailored development and career progression programs, supporting both personal and professional growth.
• Create and deliver innovative engagement events, forums, workshops, and recognition initiatives that strengthen connections with our cabin crew community.
• Oversee the cabin crew performance management process, providing data-driven insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Partner closely with operational leaders to proactively address performance concerns and implement effective improvement strategies.
• Act as the voice of cabin crew, building strong relationships across Training, Service Delivery, Guest Relations, HR, Cabin Safety, Welfare, and other key business areas.

What You'll Do

• Lead by example as a champion of service excellence, inspiring and coaching cabin crew to deliver outstanding guest experiences.

• Collaborate with senior leaders on sensitive, high-impact matters, ensuring balanced, professional, and people-focused outcomes.
• Promote a culture of safety, compliance, and operational excellence, ensuring adherence to GCAA regulations and international aviation standards.
• Lead investigations into service, operational, and performance-related matters, identifying opportunities for improvement and driving positive change.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning, feedback, and professional development, both for yourself and the wider cabin crew community.

Qualifications

Training & knowledge

• High standard of computer Literacy (proficiency in Microsoft Office applications)
• Understands the demands of managing a large multicultural work group in an airline or hospitality environment.
• Good understanding and knowledge of airline safety, security, operations and cabin crew management.
• Good project management skills.
• Understanding of the culture and values of the UAE.
