Job description

Corporate Communications Venues, Real Estate & Free Zone, Events Management + Internal Communications

  • Support corporate communications team across the corporate brand (i.e. DWTC) which primarily extends across stakeholders related to venues, commercial real estate, free zone operations and event management
  • Assist with annual planning, scheduling and management of corporate-wide publicity campaigns, media activities, news releases, press conferences and DWTC management interviews across all media channels
  • Liaise with key stakeholders (internal and external) to further develop and evolve DWTC's positioning and communications via integrated comms
  • Work closely with HR and other BUs to execute and implement DWTC's internal communications program

Core PR/Media Management

  • Assist with planning and development of editorial content across cyclical PR and publicity activity calendars for all business units
  • Ensure media are given accurate and appropriate information, and coordinate media interviews for key stakeholders
  • Assist with PR Agency management on an ongoing basis to develop and implement PR campaigns in line with business unit goals and deliverables

Core Content Management

  • Draft, edit and review Arabic corporate communications content including press content
  • Provide assistance to designated spokespeople on interviews from Arabic language media during press conferences or events managed by DWTC, as well as media-related content for our corporate business units
  • Review content submission by agency partners and deliver final output in line with DWTC standards and business requirements
  • The role requires the ability to work effectively under time-bound pressures, deadlines and to deliver quick turnaround times
  • Strong communication skills, able to multi-task, attention to detail and flexibility with work hours especially during events season
  • The individual would benefit from past working experience with Dubai Government entities requiring them to be adaptable and flexible to navigate changing circumstances and situations

Formal Education

  • University degree holder in Media Public Relations or Communications
  • Diploma or Certification from related professional bodies (e.g. Chartered Institute of Public Relations) would be preferred

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 5-year cumulative professional work experience in corporate communications, media or public relations management role
  • Minimum of 2-3 years experience with a leading public relations agency, consultancy or a similar communications position held within a related industry
  • Past work experience in Dubai or Abu Dhabi is preferred, with past exposure to the GCC region being required
  • Proven achievement with integrated public relations and publicity
  • Experience with operational public relations and protocol management such as official openings and inaugurations, guided media tours, press and media office operations
  • Past role and experience with integrated public relations campaigns and projects involving non-traditional social and digital content platforms would be preferred

Skills & Knowledge

  • Knowledge and/or relationships with the international, regional media networks as well as the leading local mainstream broadcast, print/digital news media
  • Excellent command of written Arabic language with experience in journalistic/creative communications writing; should have excellent oral and written communications skills
  • It is expected that the candidate will have a strong interest in current events, the ability to work well under daily deadlines and experience with working under pressure
  • Excellent knowledge of the structure and content of the Arabic language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar etc.
  • Proven track record for creating and carrying out event communications, plans and publicity campaigns
  • Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media
  • Experience in handling media crises and directing a public relations agency's efforts
  • Strong research, writing, editing and client interaction skills are pre-requisites
  • High level of detail orientation, organization and project management is critical
