Job description

The purpose of this job is to directly manage distressed assets and vulnerable accounts under the discretionary lending of the Credit Group domestically, and to oversee all international locations managing distressed assets for efficient recovery of NPLs while achieving financial targets in collection, provisions reduction, IIS, and improving the P&L.

Strategic Responsibilities

  • Manage the team's assigned portfolio and achieve financial targets in collection, provisions reduction, IIS, and P&L improvement.
  • Lead, motivate, and manage a team of professionals impacting the Bank's P&L.
  • Ensure maximum recoveries and turnarounds through creative financial solutions for customers.
  • Negotiate restructuring with clients, focusing on recovery and turnaround, including legal actions when necessary.
  • Evaluate proposals for restructuring, rescheduling, workouts, or write-offs and recommend for management approval.
  • Ensure collection processes adhere to the bank's code of conduct and protect the bank's reputation.
  • Regularly review collection strategies and train collectors to adapt to legal and economic changes.
  • Plan capacity and balance workload within the unit.
  • Maintain communication with law enforcement and legal entities, staying updated on legal changes.
  • Aim for low audit risk for the unit.
  • Negotiate settlements with customers aiming for win-win outcomes.
  • Establish a robust collections infrastructure, including external agencies, to maximize recovery and financial metrics.

Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with local legal and regulatory requirements and report relevant developments.
  • Maintain KYC standards.

Qualifications

  • Diploma Degree
  • Minimum of 8 years in consumer banking with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
