A leading company in the oil and gas sector is seeking an Aviation Equipment Maintenance Manager to oversee and enhance aviation fuelling operations. The role involves maintenance planning, managing resources, and ensuring compliance with international standards to provide safe and efficient services. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and substantial experience in aviation maintenance with managerial responsibilities.
To plan and control all aviation equipment/Assets (Static & Mobile) maintenance including Mechanical,Electrical, Instrumentation and Civil) in order to provide undisrupted and safe aviation fuelling services in all civilaviation depots and Strategic customer bases in accordance with adopted international standards (JIG & IATA)promoting a safe and preventive environment for ADNOC Distribution clients.
Maintenance Planning and Management
• Oversee development of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule for all ADNOC Distribution Aviation fuelling Facilities. Direct the planned preventive maintenance operations as per international standards and procedures to promote a preventive environment and uninterrupted fuelling services.
• Direct the planned preventive maintenance operations for all Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation sections as per international aviation standards and procedures to promote a preventive environment and uninterrupted fuelling services.
• Oversee the daily maintenance operations and ensure standards and procedures are adhered by staff
• Plan and oversee maintenance of the depot building and walls, pumps, storage tanks, loading bays, unloading bays and filters fuelling network through coordination with the client and ensure all facilities are sound for safe and uninterrupted fuelling operations as per the international standards.
• Monitors work schedules and establishes job priorities in a broad sense by setting goals, determining capability to meet deadlines, and establishing priorities. Sets performance criteria and regularly checks progress with Team Leaders against these criteria to manage activities in the department.
• Initiate unplanned maintenance operations when need rises and follow up with responsible team closely to ensure the operation is closed in a compliant manner. Monitors the open work orders and break down maintenance request in system and ensure its timely closure by respective team leaders and supervisors.
• Monitors the progress of work and obtains feedback from Aviation Operations Team, on overall satisfaction with response times and quality of work. Ensures staff is familiar with the basics of customer service and aims to provide a high level of service to all internal customers.
• Promotes awareness of safety rules and regulations by all subordinate staff and contractors. Ensures that staff and contractors comply with safety rules and regulation through issuance of permit to work, regular training of safety procedures, and safety audits.
• Accountable for compliance to Aviation operations Quality Assurance, JIG & IATA defined preventivemaintenance requirements.
• Accountable for AVOD Authorities and Responsibilities Manual compliance
• Accountable for the control of unproductive/incidental cost in Maintenance.
• Coordinate with Strategic customers for special project requirements.
• Accountable for asset down time management, which shall be as low as 1 %.
• Supervise technician recruitment process i.e. setting exam paper & interviewing etc.
• Coordinate with insurance team for cost reimbursement assets accident cases.
• Lead and direct the effective execution of maintenance plans across the assigned areas of operationsensuring optimization of resources utilization and return on investments as per the business strategies.
• Manage the effective forecasting of resources and the material planning process to ensure timelyavailability of resources, systems and procedures for effective execution of maintenance plans inaccordance with aviation operations plans.
• In collaboration with senior management team, lead and manage execution of preventive and correctivemaintenance plans / work schedules (including annual and long-term maintenance plans) for all theassigned facilities ensuring that maintenance jobs are carried out timely, efficiently and cost effectivewith adherence to HSE standards.
Aviation Project
• Manage engineering work related to planning, upgrading, troubleshooting and modification to improveaviation fuelling and ensure all work is adherent to standards.
• Oversee the development of specifications for mobile and static aviation equipment based on clientrecommendations and international regulatory bodies standards and participate inthe design phase when launching a new operation within UAE or abroad from an equipmentperspective to ensure all installed equipment are adherent to standards.
• Prepare and control capital and operating expense budget for all aviation depots/ air bases and their maintenance according to adopted division guidelines and coordinate with VP for approval.
• Perform individual researches to identify new equipment, upgrades and technology that could furtherenhance aviation fuelling operations from cost and preventive environment perspective.
• Oversee contractors work related to aviation equipment and aviation fuelling facilities, and approvethe contractors work after ensuring adherence to specification and standards.
• Prepare scope and liaise with operations and procurement team for procurement of refuelling vehiclessuch as mobile dispensers and refuelers.
Tender and Contract Management
• Participate in technical evaluation of Tenders for minor work to be awarded to contractors as per ServiceWork Order Procedures.
• Develop and administer maintenance contracts and evaluate performance of the contractors throughoutthe life of the maintenance contract.
Inventory Management
• Develop stock needs of equipment spare parts periodically based on current stock levels andmaintenance needs. Ensure initiation of purchase requisitions providing full technical specifications anddetails of equipment required in order to maintain healthy stock levels that ensure uninterruptedoperations.
• Facilitate accurate procurement of stocks by participating in the technical evaluations of themerchandise and advising on the operational requirements.
Performance monitoring, control and optimization
• Monitors the budget and continuously reviews manpower and operating expenses. Regularly reviewsmaintenance costs and ensures that resources are utilized properly.
• Monitor the work load and accordingly plan the work schedule shifts to ensure smooth and uninterruptedrefuelling services.
Inspection and Audits
• Initiate investigations technical problems related to equipment, and facilities and recommends remedialaction or maintenance to ensure soundness of equipment and facilities.
• Coordinate regularly with clients, airlines, vendors and international bodies such as IATA and DNATA,to stay informed of the latest standards and requirements related to aviation fuelling equipment andtheir preventive maintenance to stay informed and ensure that equipment is adherent to thesestandards and requirements.
• Bachelor degree in Engineering in Mechanical/ Electrical or any other relevant qualification.
• 12 years of experience in aviation equipment, facilities and depots maintenance operations preferablyin the oil and gas industry, including 5 years of managerial responsibilities.
