Job Title: Manager - Asset Liability Management

Job Purpose

To be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the MM Desk, with trades up to one week under reporting line to the Head of ALM. Longer trades will constitute an ALM position with a dotted reporting line to the Head of Treasury, if required. The role aims to provide ALM support to other areas of the Bank and assist Risk/Compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements (ALCO + UAE CB). The role involves using FX, MM, Fixed Income, and derivative products in both conventional and Islamic Banking.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Assist in developing, monitoring, evaluating performance, and executing the MM/ALM Budget.
  2. Support a wide range of products to support the business.
  3. Conduct regular performance appraisals and provide feedback to the Head of ALM.
  4. Develop an annual business plan for ALM in conjunction with the Head of ALM.
  5. Manage regulatory and internal liquidity ratios effectively within the approved framework.
Other Accountabilities
  1. Analyze key Risk, MM & Balance Sheet Reports.
  2. Provide execution services for interest rate/MM products for all customers (Conventional + Islamic), quoting rates as directed by ALM requirements.
  3. Develop customer relationships internally and externally through regular visits with RMs in FI.
  4. Deliver financial solutions & strategies for the Balance Sheet across FX, IR (MM, Derivative, and Commodity Products if required), collaborating with Traders/Structurers on the Trading Desk.
  5. Provide NBF Staff Education, Presentations, and ensure Treasury publications/presentations are produced and delivered on time.
  6. Develop the analytical, technical, regulatory, and execution skills of the ALM Desk Team.
Job Context

The role involves heading the ALM Desk (Conventional + Islamic) and directing the MM Dealing staff to execute MM Desk functions from a budget & policy perspective, as part of career progression.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Commerce, Business Studies, Financial Engineering, or Quantitative Finance.

Experience and Skills

Professional Qualifications: MBA, Institution qualifications (ACT, CFA, ACI Level 01/02, FIC, FRM, PRM, ACCA, IFQ).

Work Experience: Minimum 5 years banking experience, including 2 years in a similar role at a major financial institution. Extensive knowledge of financial markets (Conventional & Islamic), managing FX, MM asset portfolios (G10, GCC, EM currencies). Experience in managing a team, budget setting, and P&L responsibility. Experience in ALCO support, Pricing Bulletins, GAP Analysis, Cashflow Management, KRIs, Liquidity Ratios, Fixed Income Portfolio Management, and regulatory engagement.
