The Manager Accounts position is responsible for advising an organization on how to increase shareholder value through prudent financial practices and monitoring and enforcing compliance with finance-related laws, procedures, and regulations such as tax filing and financial reporting. Objectives
Develop metrics for driving business performance relative to strategic priorities and minimizing risk.
- Drive value within the business through aiding margin enhancement and cost optimization.
- Execute accurate reporting that enables sound analysis and financial recommendations.
- Provide insights into business performance vs. industry trends.
- Manage relationships with bankers, auditors, and tax authorities.
- Ensure compliance with relevant cross border and local regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage a team that develops financial models and recommendations for executive decision-making by conducting comprehensive analysis and utilizing appropriate methods.
- Coordinate strategic financial planning for the company, including expenses, income, insurance coverage, objectives, tax status, and risk tolerance.
- Focus on daily and month-end accounting to determine results, including P&L activity (management fees, fee splitting, gross-ups, reclasses), balance sheet activity (deferrals, accruals), and accounts-receivable cash application, in compliance with IFRS.
- Support the Finance Head in implementing a business valuation model, measuring results, tracking performance vs. expectations, and providing recommendations for corrective action.
- Provide insights about spending trends, cost-optimization initiatives, and margin opportunities.
Job Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum requirement: B. Com., Chartered Accountant.
- 5-10 years overall work experience in Finance function with at least the last 3 years as a Finance Manager.
- Candidates for a Finance Manager role will also need to demonstrate the following qualities:
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Good business acumen for problem solving.
- Competency with large ERP systems.
- Familiarity with the travel industry.
- Confidence to deal with a range of stakeholders.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize a demanding workload.
- Willingness to travel within UAE and internationally as required (20% of the time).
- As this role requires customer and supplier visits, a UAE driving license would be a preference.
