Job summary

Central Production Facility in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a maintenance technician for the food processing plant. You will operate and maintain mechanical and electrical plant, work as part of a team, and follow health, safety, and food safety policies.

Weekend and night shift work are required, with site attendance outside office hours in emergencies. You should have 3–5 years of experience in food processing plant maintenance, a recognised technical qualification or equivalent degree,

Qualifications

• M&E training and a recognised technical qualification or trade experience is required.
• Understanding of MEP equipment and safety practices.
• Good knowledge of H&S and supervision responsibilities.
• Experience recording and reporting maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

• Manage preventive maintenance for all site equipment.
• Adequate handover of machinery after PPM or breakdowns.
• Maintain hygiene of equipment during maintenance activities.
• Demonstrate knowledge of equipment and engineering processes.
• Perform general housekeeping aligned with engineering practices.
• Operate within food manufacturing plant requirements and SOPs.
• Record and report maintenance work and spare parts usage.
• Work with supervisor to review and improve systems.
• Ensure compliance with SHEQ requirements.

Job description

Role Profile:

To ensure the effective operation of all mechanical and electrical plant within the area of operation. Capable of working as part of a team and taking instruction. Ensure health and safety and standard PPM practices are adhered to and completing all necessary paperwork on maintenance and repair operations. Must be a good communicator and have relevant M&E experience in manufacturing. Responsible for maintaining Food Safety and Food Quality Policy. Maintain and adhere to FSSC standard requirements.

Key Performance areas:

• Preventive maintenance program for all equipment on site.
• Adequate handover of machineries after PPM/breakdown
• Ensure hygiene condition of equipment during maintenance
• Knowledge of equipment and processes required in engineering workplace
• General housekeeping and cleaning duties related to engineering practices
• Knowledge of food manufacturing plant and operational requirements
• Review and improvement of systems in conjunction with the manager
• Ensure all works are compliant with company SHEQ requirements
• Recording and reporting on maintenance works
• Inventory of spares and record keeping of used spare parts
• Capability to complete tasks without delay and supervision
• Capability of use of computer software such as Microsoft Office
• Inform Food safety team about any changes in equipment as well as any risk on food safety related to utensils and equipment.

Qualification: 3-5yearsâ experience or an equivalent degree.

Language Requirement: Fluent in English, Proficient in reading and writing.

Additional role requirements:

• Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times.
• Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received
• The position requires weekend and night shift working. The working pattern may include both Friday and Saturday or public holidays as normal working days.
• The role will require site attendance outside of offices hours in the event of an emergency.
