Job Description

Position Overview:

The Maintenance General Technician is responsible for the day-to-day upkeep, operation, and troubleshooting of all farm equipment and facilities. This role ensures the RAS system runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently, minimizing downtime and supporting optimal fish health and production.

Key Responsibilities:

Systems & Equipment Maintenance

• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of RAS components: pumps, filters, aerators, piping, UV/ozone units, sediment traps, airlines, and tanks
• Perform preventive tasks: cleaning sumps, backwashing filters, purging sediment, lubricating, tightening fasteners, and replacing worn parts .
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, perform corrective repairs, and collaborate with specialized teams for complex issues Facility & Site Maintenance
• Oversee general facility upkeep: building repairs, painting, plumbing, electrical basics, grounds maintenance, and biosecurity routines .
• Assist in maintaining health & safety, occupational, and biosecurity standards

Water Quality & System Monitoring Support

• Support water quality parameter checks (pH, DO, temperature, ammonia, salinity) and perform basic sampling and documentation
• Log maintenance activities, replacements, tool usage, and related costs for future planning .

Cross-functional Support

• Collaborate with aquaculture technicians for tank cleaning, fish transfers, and system interventions during production cycles.
• Assist in system upgrades or installations as directed by the maintenance team.
