Job summary

Alshaya Group seeks a maintenance engineer for the food processing plant in the UAE. The role involves preventive maintenance, PPM handovers, and ensuring hygiene and safety during operations to support efficient production.

The candidate should have 3-5 years in food processing plant maintenance, a recognised technical qualification, and the ability to supervise a team while maintaining accurate records and reporting.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years’ experience in food processing plant maintenance.
• Must hold a recognised technical qualification or trade experience.
• Capable of supervising subordinates and leading a team.
• Good communication and teamwork in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on site equipment.
• Hand over machinery after PPM/breakdown.
• Ensure hygiene conditions during maintenance.
• Record and report maintenance work and parts used.
• Inventory spares and maintain records.
• Comply with SHEQ requirements.

Job description

To ensure the effective operation of all mechanical and electrical plant within the area of operation. Capable of working as part of a team and taking Instruction. Ensure health and safety and standard PPM practices are adhered to and completing all necessary paperwork on maintenance and repair operations. Must be a good communicator and have relevant M&E experience in manufacturing.

The below Key Performance areas include but are not limited to:

Preventive maintenance program for all equipment on site.

Adequate handover of machineries after PPM/breakdown

Ensure hygiene condition of equipment during maintenance

Knowledge of equipment and processes required in engineering workplace

General housekeeping and cleaning duties related to engineering practices

Knowledge of food manufacturing plant and operational requirements

Review and improvement of systems in conjunction with the manager

Ensure all works are compliant with company SHEQ requirements

Recording and reporting on maintenance works

Inventory of spares and record keeping of used spare parts

Capability to complete tasks without delay and supervision

Capability of use of computer software such as Microsoft Office

Inform Food safety team about any changes in equipment as well as any risk on food safety related to utensils and equipment.
