The Role

The management of engineering and facilities services and processes that support the core business of the hotel. Generally focusing on using best business practices to improve efficiency by reducing operating costs whilst increasing productivity. To maintain Mövenpick standards of quality, service, and facilities across all departments under his/her responsibility and authority. He/she is responsible for the overall smooth, efficient, and economical operation of the entire Engineering department. Assisting management in planning investments, projects, and the annual replacement budget.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all Accor corporate and local operational standards.
  • Organize engineering administration and facilities management.
  • Implement preventive maintenance and repair schedules.
  • Coordinate with corporate engineering teams.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and store management.
  • Ensure safety and fire standards are met.

Planning & Organizing

  • Coordinate procurement with the finance team as per hotel procedures.
  • Manage spare parts stock levels and record all transactions.
  • Implement and monitor preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Prioritize workload and manage repairs efficiently.
  • Plan and execute annual preventive maintenance programs.
  • Organize training programs for the engineering team.
  • Conduct regular fire fighting training with security.
  • Review staffing and leave plans to optimize resources and service quality.

Operations

  • Adhere to policies on fire, hygiene, health, and safety.
  • Oversee technical installations including plant, sewage, water, generators, air conditioning, and other systems.
  • Maintain high grooming standards for self and team.
  • Ensure quality of work by contractors and team members.
  • Lead and support the team in achieving operational and service goals.
  • Plan technical training for staff.
  • Manage modifications and improvements to plant equipment.
  • Investigate and resolve internal disputes and guest complaints.
  • Assign duties and supervise departmental tasks.
  • Conduct daily briefings and meetings.
  • Oversee maintenance contracts and compliance.

Administration

  • Utilize DynaWin system for maintenance management.
  • Approve invoices post work completion.
  • Prepare monthly reports on maintenance activities and energy consumption.
  • Monitor external maintenance contracts and liaise with authorities and contractors.

Hygiene, Safety, and Confidentiality

  • Ensure proper care of equipment and furniture.
  • Familiarize with hotel policies, layout, and emergency procedures.
  • Enforce safety regulations to protect people and property.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Hotel Management or related field.
  • Previous experience in a similar role in the hospitality industry.
