A leading company in armored vehicle manufacturing is seeking a Machine Operator to ensure efficient production through the operation and maintenance of various machinery. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma and 1-2 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment, capable of following safety standards and performing quality checks.
The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining machinery to ensure the efficient and
safe production of high-quality products. This role involves monitoring equipment, conducting regular quality checks, and
adhering to safety standards to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
Machine Operation
• Operate specific machinery such as:
o CNC Machines: Program and adjust CNC machines using G-code or CAM software, ensuring precision
cuts and finishes.
o Grinding Machines: Operate surface, cylindrical, or tool grinders to achieve required dimensions and
finishes.
o Injection Molding Machines: Set up molds, monitor injection parameters, and troubleshoot molding
o Laser Cutting Machines: Program and adjust laser settings for various materials and thicknesses.
o Lathe Machines: Perform turning, threading, and facing operations on metal or other materials.
o Glass Cutting Machines: Operate automated or manual glass cutting equipment with precision.
o Press Brake Machines: Adjust machine settings for bending metal sheets to specified angles.
o Printing Machines: Calibrate and run printing presses for various media formats.
• Set up and calibrate machinery for specific production runs, adjusting settings such as speed, feed rate, and
temperature as required.
• Operate machinery in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), monitoring for efficiency and
performance.
• Load raw materials and oversee the production process to ensure equipment runs smoothly.
Technical Skills
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD designs to guide machine operations.
• Select appropriate tools, dies, and fixtures for specific operations.
• Utilize precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify product dimensions.
Quality Control and Inspection
• Perform regular quality checks on finished products, inspecting for consistency, accuracy, and defects.
• Identify and address minor product inconsistencies or equipment malfunctions promptly to maintain product
standards.
• Record inspection data and adjust machinery as needed to uphold quality.
Routine Maintenance and Troubleshooting
• Conduct routine maintenance on machinery, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues, making minor repairs or adjustments to reduce downtime.
• Report more complex equipment issues to the maintenance team for timely resolution.
Safety Compliance
• Adhere to all safety regulations and use required personal protective equipment (PPE) while operating
machinery.
• Follow safety protocols for handling machinery, raw materials, and finished products.
• Participate in safety training and demonstrate safe practices consistently.
Documentation and Reporting
• Maintain accurate records of production outputs, downtime, and any incidents occurring during shifts.
• Complete daily logs, including details on material usage, production cycles, and equipment performance.
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to improve productivity and efficiency
Desired Candidate Profile
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating machinery in a manufacturing environment.
Person Specifications:
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with machinery operation, quality control processes, and basic mechanical
troubleshooting.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to focus on detail, ensuring precise operations and identifying inconsistencies.
• Physical Ability: Capable of lifting materials, standing for extended periods, and handling repetitive tasks.
