Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking an experienced Safety Engineer to support HSE activities within a luxury yacht manufacturing and shipyard environment in Abu Dhabi, UAE. You will implement and monitor workplace safety standards across shipyard and production activities, ensuring compliance with UAE HSE regulations and company procedures.

The role demands hands-on knowledge of shipyard hazards such as hot work, confined spaces, work at height, lifting operations, FRP/composites, painting and chemical handling,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Safety Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering or related technical discipline.
• NEBOSH IGC or IOSH or OSHA certification is preferred.
• Typically 3–5+ years of HSE/safety experience in yacht building, shipbuilding or marine manufacturing.
• Experience with Permit-to-Work, risk assessments and site inspections.
• Experience supervising high-risk activities such as hot work, confined-space entry, height work and lifting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor HSE compliance across yacht construction, production, assembly and outfitting areas.
• Conduct routine safety inspections of workshops, vessels, docks and shipyard work areas.
• Identify unsafe conditions and ensure timely corrective actions.
• Provide HSE support during hull construction, machinery installation, outfitting, testing and commissioning.
• Ensure safe practices by employees, contractors and subcontractors.
• Manage and monitor Permit-to-Work requirements for high-risk activities.
• Monitor safety during FRP lamination, resin mixing, bonding and composite fabrication.
• Review SDS and ensure chemical-control measures.
• Prepare risk assessments, JSA/JHA and method statements; conduct hazard identifications.
• Investigate accidents and near-misses; perform root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Support emergency drills and maintain HSE documentation and records.
