Job summary

Yosh is seeking an experienced Laundry In Charge to join a private household, overseeing all laundry, linen and wardrobe care for family members and guests. The successful candidate will manage daily laundry operations, supervise junior staff, select appropriate cleaning methods, and ensure garments and textiles receive exceptional care.

You will maintain inventory, records and schedules, liaise with external cleaners and tailors as needed, and uphold strict confidentiality and safety standards

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ professional experience in laundry management or a similar role.
• Experience supervising staff and coordinating with external laundry suppliers.
• Strong attention to detail with finishing and quality-control skills.
• Good record-keeping skills and the ability to manage inventories and schedules.
• Physically fit and able to operate laundry machinery and equipment.
• Excellent communication skills with discretion for a private household.

Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for day-to-day laundry operations including washing, drying, ironing, folding and packing to a high standard.
• Supervise, train and schedule junior staff and external contractors.
• Assess fabrics and select appropriate cleaning methods and detergents.
• Manage care for delicate textiles and liaise with external cleaners and tailors.
• Operate and maintain laundry equipment and coordinate repairs as needed.
• Maintain records of requests, garment histories and cleaning schedules.
• Inspect items for quality control and arrange repairs or stain treatment as needed.
• Oversee linen and wardrobe inventory, rotation and replenishment.
• Prepare handover notes and communicate schedules to household staff.
• Maintain a safe, clean workspace and ensure chemical storage compliance.
• Manage budgets and supplier relationships for consumables and equipment.
