Qualifications

• No high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
• No license or certification is required.
• Willing to learn laundry machine operation, linen handling, fabric care, and quality inspection routines.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor washing machines, dryers, dry-cleaning machines, and related laundry equipment during assigned shifts.
• Add approved laundry chemicals according to handling procedures, safety standards, and load requirements.
• Set dryers to the correct time and temperature based on fabric type, load content, and laundry instructions.
• Identify stained, damaged, or unsuitable items and determine whether they require repair, spot treatment, rewash, or discard.
• Inspect articles removed from washers, dryers, or dry-cleaning equipment to confirm cleanliness and quality.
• Place cleaned items into clean linen carts while keeping them organized, protected, and ready for distribution.
• Remove lint and debris from dryer screens, dry-cleaning filters, and drain traps after each load.
• Fold cleaned articles to designated sizes by hand or with folding machinery.
• Maintain accurate records of items laundered, loads processed, rejected items, and routine laundry activity.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment, and machines to identify defects, faults, or maintenance needs.
• Follow company safety, security, hygiene, laundry handling, and operating procedures at all times.
• Report accidents, injuries, unsafe work conditions, equipment faults, or operational concerns to the manager.
• Maintain clean uniform standards, professional appearance, confidentiality, and responsible care of company assets.
• Build positive working relationships with colleagues and support the team in meeting laundry and housekeeping goals.
• Suggest practical improvements that may increase efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, or cost control.
• Stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, pull, stoop, reach, lift, carry, push, and move laundry items during daily operations.
• Move objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance when required.
• Work safely through narrow, confined, elevated, sloping, uneven, or slippery spaces, including stairs and service ramps when needed.
• Complete additional reasonable duties requested by supervisors to support hotel laundry operations and service standards.
