Job description

Seddiqi Holding is a family-owned and managed company with a unique, diversified portfolio of businesses and brands across numerous sectors. The business units include Ahmed Seddiqi – the longest standing and largest unit within the group, Seddiqi Properties, Swiss Watch Services and Mizzen.

We are looking for a Logistics Operative who will be part of our Logistics and Warehousing team - responsible for providing an accurate and prompt receipt, storage, picking, packing, and dispatching of goods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertakes receipt and checking of incoming stock in line with the Standard Operating Procedures and ensures that goods are correctly labeled, bar coded and located within the warehouse.
  • Ensures that all in-bound and out-bound delivery information is accurately keyed into the company systems.
  • Completes necessary documentation upon receipt or delivery of goods in an accurate and prompt manner and update the system accordingly.
  • Checks and inspects goods received and ensure they are of accurate quantity, reference and quality. Promptly report damages, discrepancies or any unresolved issues to the Line Manager.
  • Chooses appropriate packing materials and packs goods in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ensures the safe and efficient handling, loading, delivery and collection of goods.
  • Optimizes space by ensuring that goods are arranged and stored in designated areas.
  • Dispatches outgoing orders in line with company processes so as to achieve agreed turn-round targets.
  • Ensures all stock is stored, handled and transported securely and in line with company procedures.
  • Carries out stock and inventory control and ensures proper maintenance of records of deliveries / collections and transfers.
  • Together with colleagues, ensures the workplace environment is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness and is in compliance with company standards at all times.
  • Maintains high levels of Health and Safety standards and ensure any hazards are promptly reported to the Line Manager.

In order to be successful in this role, you should have:

  • High School or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years job related experience.
  • Literacy & Numeracy aptitude – Entry Level 2.
  • Good verbal and written communication in English.
