Logistics Officer Job Description

The Logistics Officer plans to perform and control the logistics operation activities within the organization. This position directs shipment clearance and ensures effective and efficient monitoring/tracking of all inbound and outbound shipments at all times.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Arrange shipment arrangements for inbound and outbound.
  2. Handle shipment clearances, track and monitor shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
  3. Develop reports on products/materials movements and various operational logistics issues.
  4. Update stakeholders (internal/external) on the status of their shipments in transit.
  5. Develop logistics support plans, budget requirements, and organization timelines for new operations.
  6. Create operational procedures and method statements.
  7. Prepare reports on material/products and personnel movements, and address operational logistics problems.
  8. Assess existing logistics systems and advise on corrective measures.
  9. Assist in designing and developing standard operating procedures for efficient logistics management.
  10. Ensure compliance with all applicable company directives, policies, and procedures.
  11. Monitor material movement to prevent damage to works, workforce, or the public.
  12. Ensure customers receive their products in a timely manner and in good condition.
  13. Communicate effectively with clients and respond to their requirements.
Additional Responsibilities

Job Knowledge & Skills
  • Knowledge of inbound and outbound logistics operations.
  • Knowledge of import and export documentation.
  • Good cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and related software.
  • ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills.
Job Experience

Minimum 5 years of working experience, including 3 years relevant experience; 2 years GCC experience is a plus.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field; professional qualification in supply chain or logistics is preferred.
