Caliberly in the UAE seeks an experienced Logistics Manager for Road Tanker Operations to oversee planning, coordination and execution of liquid bulk logistics. Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, Business Administration or a related discipline.
- 812 years of experience in logistics and transportation operations.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience managing road tanker operations.
- Experience in chemical, petrochemical, petroleum, fuel, liquid bulk or hazardous goods transportation is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of UAE transportation regulations and dangerous goods handling requirements.
- Experience managing a fleet of tankers and transport personnel.
- Strong knowledge of fleet tracking, route optimization, transportation planning and logistics cost management.
- Experience with ERP, TMS, GPS tracking and fleet management systems.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day road tanker transportation and delivery operations.
- Plan and allocate tankers based on customer requirements, cargo availability and delivery schedules.
- Ensure efficient utilization of the tanker fleet and minimize vehicle idle time.
- Monitor loading, transportation, unloading and delivery activities from origin to destination.
- Ensure all deliveries are completed safely and within agreed timelines.
- Develop efficient transportation schedules and optimize delivery routes.
- Coordinate with terminals, warehouses, customers, drivers and operations teams.
- Monitor tanker movements and proactively resolve delays, route issues and operational disruptions.
- Plan fleet requirements based on shipment volumes, customer demand and operational capacity.

Job Title Logistics Manager Road Tanker Operations

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Logistics Manager Road Tanker Operations to oversee the planning coordination and execution of road tanker logistics operations. The role will be responsible for ensuring safe efficient compliant and cost-effective transportation of liquid bulk chemical and petrochemical products while maintaining high standards of fleet utilization delivery performance and customer service.
The role requires strong experience in tanker fleet operations hazardous material transportation route planning driver management regulatory compliance and logistics cost control. Experience in chemical or petrochemical logistics is highly preferred particularly within a UAE-based operation. The business operates in the chemical and petrochemical storage and logistics sector including an integrated storage terminal in Hamriyah Free Zone.
Key Responsibilities Road Tanker Operations
- Manage day-to-day road tanker transportation and delivery operations.
- Plan and allocate tankers based on customer requirements cargo availability and delivery schedules.
- Ensure efficient utilization of the tanker fleet and minimize vehicle idle time.

Tanker Fleet Management
- Monitor fleet availability utilization maintenance and operational readiness.
- Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance of tankers and associated equipment.
- Ensure vehicles have valid registrations insurance permits certifications and inspection approvals.
- Monitor fuel consumption mileage vehicle downtime and maintenance costs.
- Coordinate with workshops and maintenance providers to minimize fleet downtime.
HSE & Dangerous Goods Compliance
- Ensure strict compliance with UAE regulations governing road transportation of chemicals petroleum products and hazardous materials.
- Implement and monitor HSE procedures for loading transportation unloading and emergency situations.
- Ensure drivers follow approved safety procedures PPE requirements and safe-driving practices.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure timely closure of HSE observations.
- Investigate transportation incidents accidents spills near misses and safety violations.
Driver & Team Management
- Manage drivers transport coordinators dispatchers and logistics support personnel.
- Prepare driver schedules and optimize manpower allocation.
- Monitor driver performance attendance safety compliance and productivity.
- Conduct safety briefings toolbox talks and operational training where required.
- Establish clear KPIs for delivery performance safety vehicle utilization and customer service.
Customer & Stakeholder Coordination
- Coordinate closely with customers regarding delivery schedules cargo requirements and operational updates.
- Maintain strong relationships with terminals suppliers transport contractors and regulatory stakeholders.
- Handle customer complaints and delivery-related issues promptly.
- Coordinate with commercial operations warehouse and finance teams to ensure seamless logistics execution.
Cost Control & Performance Management
- Prepare and manage transportation and fleet operating budgets.
- Monitor fuel maintenance driver toll subcontracting and other logistics expenses.
- Identify opportunities to reduce transportation costs while maintaining safety and service quality.
- Monitor KPIs including fleet utilization on-time delivery turnaround time cost per trip fuel efficiency and vehicle downtime.
- Prepare regular management reports covering logistics performance and operational costs.
Documentation & Systems
- Ensure accurate maintenance of delivery notes trip sheets vehicle records permits inspection certificates and other logistics documentation.
- Monitor compliance documentation for tankers and drivers.
- Utilize ERP Transport Management Systems (TMS) GPS tracking and fleet management platforms.
- Maintain accurate records of trips deliveries vehicle performance and customer transactions.
