Overview

We\'re looking for someone who wants to kickstart their career with an exciting Logistics internship. This internship will be for 6 months in our Material Management team or Distribution Team, part of our Logistics Function.

Responsibilities

MM Side

  • As the Logistics Intern, your key responsibility will be to support the Materials Manager in owning and driving the process of managing the flow of materials for the Hilti Stores and Vans, ensuring that there is an optimization of stock and service level at all locations in line with company objectives (Stock Availability, Customer Satisfaction/Sales order execution, Days on Hand, Obsolescence).
  • Based on your ability and performance, additional projects will be assigned to you to further develop your skills and to offer insight into various functions within logistics.

Distribution Side

  • Import / Export, Warehouse and Domestic / Regional Transport Management, Customer Experience
  • Interface with service providers to ensure on-time imports / exports of shipments whilst understanding and ensuring compliance to regulations
  • Interfacing with several of our service providers to ensure on-time imports and exports of shipments, all aspects of warehousing & transportation operations (including inbound, inventory management, outbound, reverse logistics, local & regional deliveries) and other administrative activities to ensure our customers’ business requirements are met
  • Work closely with other departments / functions – Customer Services, Sales, Material Management, etc – to ensure better services to our customers and on special requests
  • Work cross functionally, use lean management tools, adopt global standards / guidelines, and sustainably solve root cause issues to achieve cost productivity, efficiencies, or service improvements.
  • Translate business requirements into effective data visualizations to support strategic decision-making, using tools like Excel & PowerBi
  • Coordinate performance reviews with relevant Logistics Service Providers and follow up on countermeasure implementation
  • Ensure cost management, invoice control and conduct necessary audits & checks to ensure that risk mitigating controls are in place within all aspects of operations
  • Understand, interpret and communicate global KPIs and performance management reporting
What you need is
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business fields required (focus in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Engineering preferred)
  • Proficiency in English - written and verbal
  • Strong Microsoft and PC skills; including PowerBi, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • The ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and to be detail oriented and well organized
  • Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • A high level of motivation, proactive mindset and a continuous improvement mentality
  • A valid UAE residency under family or university sponsorship
  • Willing to work in operations as well as office environment
