Job description

Overview

Our client, a leading company in the chemical industry, is seeking a Logistics Executive to oversee local transportation operations. The role involves managing transportation execution, coordinating with statutory bodies and third-party vendors, ensuring timely deliveries, maintaining transportation records, and supporting cross-functional teams while adhering to SOPs and KPIs. The Logistics Executive will be fully responsible for coordinating all aspects of local transportation.

Responsibilities
  1. Manage local transportation execution.
  2. Liaise with statutory bodies such as Customs regarding local deliveries.
  3. Coordinate with third-party vendors for their deliveries.
  4. Record delays and NCRs at all stages of transportation.
  5. Coordinate with the Supply Chain team to execute sales as per schedule and business needs.
  6. Coordinate with terminals for loading requirements.
  7. Maintain effective communication channels with Sales, Purchase, Transport, Terminal Operations, Finance, etc.
  8. Follow proper working procedures and implement corrective and preventive actions based on problem analysis, feedback, and complaints.
  9. Adhere to SOPs and monitor KPIs.
  10. Ensure transportation is planned according to schedules and timeframes.
  11. Prepare monthly transport reports.
  12. Verify transport invoices and coordinate with transporters for invoice submission within the first 5 days of each month.
  13. Verify invoices in Esker.
  14. Participate in cross-functional projects.
Must Have
  • Graduate in any discipline.
  • Additional qualification such as UG/PG or certifications in Logistics is advantageous.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in container and road logistics, including documentation.
