About the Role: The Logistics Coordinator (Import/Export) is responsible for managing and overseeing the movement of goods and materials internationally, ensuring the efficient and compliant importation and exportation. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of UAE and international shipping regulations and operations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Shipment Coordination • Coordinate & manage the end-to-end logistics process for imports and exports, ensuring timely and cost-effective movement of goods. • Liaise with shippers, carriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to arrange shipments. • Liaise within the Supply Chain department & other concerned departments without delay. • Schedule, track and monitor shipments, ensuring on time destination arrival and without issues. Documentation and Compliance • Prepare and manage all necessary documentation related to the shipment of goods, such as customs declarations, bills of lading, commercial invoices, etc. • Ensure compliance with domestic and international trade laws and regulations. • Keep abreast of changes in import-export laws and regulations and implement necessary adjustments. Cost Management • Negotiate shipping and handling fees with freight forwarders and shipping companies., • including payment terms. • Analyze and optimize logistical procedures and processes to reduce costs. • Maintain weekly or monthly price updates for easy and smooth internal process workflow. Reporting and Analytics • Provide regular updates and reports on the status of shipments, inventory levels, and any issues that arise.Track and report shipment status to relevant parties. • Assist relevant team with cost analysis to improve shipping efficiency and reduce expenses. • Process Improvement: Develop and implement customer service policies, procedures, and standards to improve service efficiency and customer satisfaction. • Collaboration: Work closely within Supply Chain department and other departments, such as operations and accounts to ensure a seamless customer experience. • Technology Utilization: Utilize the ERP software and tools to track and manage logistics-related activities. • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. • Any other responsibilities as and when delegated by the Department Manager and/ or Management directives. • Adherence to all Company SOPs, Policies, and UAE regulations.
Qualification & Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Business, or a related field. • Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics coordination, with a focus on sea freight. • Strong Understanding of shipping regulations, customs procedures and documentation requirements. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Proficient in logistics software and Microsoft Office suite. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Preferred Qualifications: • Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CSCMP) • Experience with international shipping and trade compliance. • Familiarity with ocean freight booking system and tolls.
