Job description

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Logistics Coordinator to manage and streamline the movement of materials, vehicles, equipment, and personnel for a large-scale residential development project on Ramhan Island. The ideal candidate will coordinate with internal teams, multiple contractors, the client, and government authorities to ensure the smooth execution of logistics activities with a strong focus on fleet movement, traffic management, and site mobilization logistics.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Traffic & Fleet Management

Plan and manage vehicle movement, especially concrete trucks, heavy machinery, pipe deliveries, etc.

Implement and coordinate the internal traffic flow plan in line with the client's island-wide traffic system.

Monitor and mitigate traffic congestion risks in coordination with site engineers and foremen.

Coordinate offloading zones, access routes, and delivery windows with building contractors and subcontractors.

2. Coordination & Communication

Liaise with:

Client and PMC (Project Management Consultant) for logistics planning and approvals.

Infrastructure and building contractors for sequencing and access planning.

Transport department / PRO for permits and NoCs (especially for barge or road transportation).

Central Stores, Procurement, and Purchase teams for delivery schedules and inventory tracking.

Maintain regular communication and meetings with stakeholders regarding delivery updates and potential conflicts.

3. Site Mobilization & Infrastructure Support

Oversee logistics for mobilization of site offices, manpower accommodation, and site utilities.

Arrange the transport and placement of prelim infrastructure (generators, water tanks, offices, etc.).

Support infrastructure works like bridges, roads, and utilities by ensuring timely delivery and allocation of materials.

4. Permit & Compliance Handling

Ensure all transportation NoCs, gate passes, and clearance permits are applied and approved on time.

Coordinate with PRO/Traffic Authority for barge movement, road usage, and island access permits.

Maintain records of permits and compliance certificates.

5. Inventory & Delivery Monitoring

Track material deliveries to avoid idle time or bottlenecks on-site.

Report delays or disruptions immediately and offer alternative solutions.

Assist in centralized material request planning and ensure delivery aligns with the construction program.

6. Reporting & Documentation

Prepare daily logistics reports, delivery schedules, and fleet movement logs.

Document site entry/exit timings, material delivery status, and equipment allocation.

Provide regular progress updates to the Construction Manager/Project Manager.

Candidate Requirements:

Minimum 5-8 years of experience in logistics coordination in large-scale infrastructure or residential construction projects.

Strong experience in fleet and traffic management, preferably on remote or island-based projects.

Knowledge of Abu Dhabi transport regulations, logistics permit processes, and NOC approval systems.

Excellent coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Fluent in English; Arabic knowledge is a plus.

Proficient in MS Office, logistics tracking software, and familiar with construction documentation.
