Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Logistics Manager, the Logistics Assistant will primarily be involved with the day-to-day operation, negotiating and executing logistics functions. The logistics assistant should follow standard procedures, portals, and ERP to perform and complete the assigned tasks.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist coordinators in planning and processing shipments through OTM.
Document preparation for Ready orders and screening through GTM before dispatch (visual compliance).
Coordinate with different BUs, sales teams, compliance departments, freight forwarders, and customers to ensure timely delivery.
Negotiate with carriers and freight forwarders for the best rates and shipping schedules.
Manage local movements for repairs and rework, ensuring comprehensive knowledge of temporary export and import regulations.
Maintain complete records of temporary movement imports/exports and follow up until claim submission.
Operate the ERP System (JDE, OTM, GTM, TAT) proficiently.
Troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day operational issues that prevent product flow.
Upload the POD on the shared drive and web portal.
Prepare and maintain daily reports and data for management review.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/SKILL-SET REQUIRED:
Essential:
At least 3 years of experience in logistics.
Bachelor's degree.
JAFZA experience highly preferred.
Oil and Gas or Manufacturing experience highly preferred.
Excellent knowledge in ERP systems (JDE / OTM / TAT preferred).
Team player with the ability to work under pressure and multitask.
Excellent knowledge and skill in using computers, proficiency in Microsoft Office.
