Profile

Manages the procurement of logistics services for company materials in line with policy, ensuring cost-effective pricing, timely international shipments, accurate tracking, and up-to-date inventory records.

Responsibilities

  • Procures logistics services for the company in a cost-efficient manner, in time, in accordance with requirements and at acceptable terms and conditions.
  • Issues purchase orders for logistics services for internal approval and to freight forwarding providers
  • Works collaboratively with Logistics Specialist and Procurement Lead to plan the most optimal freight option.
  • Documents and controls commitments between company and vendors/subcontractors.
  • Keeps vendor and subcontractor documentation updated.
  • Records logistics related activities and communication.
  • Monitors and manages partial delivery of goods and services, or non-conformances
  • Monitors vendor/subcontractor performance.
  • Expedites the transportation of goods, materials, and services by troubleshooting immediately should a problem arise.
  • Negotiate with service providers when required.
  • Maintain and build good working relationships with external logistics services.
  • Verifies shipping invoices.
  • Prepares shipping documents when required.
  • Assesses duty and tariff amounts for shipments.
  • Other duties as directed by company management.

  • Follow all Health & Safety policies, report hazards in the office, and support a zero-incident safety culture by maintaining a safe working environment for colleagues, visitors, and contractors.
  • Be mindful of environmental impacts from office activities, such as resource use and waste, and support actions to reduce the company’s environmental footprint.
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies or process gaps in office workflows and communicating opportunities for quality enhancement.
  • Maintain a drug- and alcohol-free workplace by adhering to the zero-tolerance policy and ensuring compliance with random testing requirements, including in the office environment.
  • Practice energy-saving behaviours in the office, such as turning off unused equipment, minimising waste, and supporting energy reduction initiatives.
  • Exercise Stop Work Authority if you identify unsafe conditions in the office, such as trip hazards, electrical faults, or fire risks, and ensure work is paused until it is safe to proceed.
  • Safeguard office systems and data by following cybersecurity protocols, using secure passwords, reporting suspicious emails, and protecting sensitive information.
