Job Description
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Logistic Manager with a proven track record in overseeing the procurement, storage, and distribution of materials, ensuring optimal inventory levels and smooth operations within an organization for a high-profile client.
The key objectives for this role are:
- Defining project objectives, creating detailed roadmaps, and establishing timelines
- Securing and optimizing resources, managing budgets, and ensuring efficient workflows
- Assembling and leading project teams, streamlining communication, and resolving conflicts
- Identifying potential risks, devising mitigation strategies, and implementing contingency plans
- Monitoring project progress, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), and reporting updates to stakeholders
- Ensuring that project deliverables meet the required quality standards and specifications
- Maintaining effective communication with stakeholders to ensure alignment and address any issues promptly
Expected:
- A bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field is essential.
- Additional certifications such as Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) from APICS can be highly advantageous.
- Hands-on experience in Logistic management, supply chain operations, or a related field, generally no less than five years, is often required.
- Proficiency in using enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and materials management software (AMUSE) is typically necessary.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills are crucial.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain procurement strategies to balance quality, cost, and supply continuity.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring that there is neither excess nor a shortage, which could impact production schedules.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing disputes to ensure materials are delivered on time and within specifications.
- Oversee the scheduling and logistics of incoming and outgoing materials to align with production schedules efficiently.
- Analyze market trends and supply chain dynamics to achieve cost reductions while maintaining quality standards.
- Lead and develop the materials management team, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages continuous improvement and innovation.
- Ensure all material management activities are compliant with industry standards and environmental laws and regulations.
Key Tasks and Duties
- Forecasting the demand for materials based on production needs and historical trends.
- Purchasing materials and negotiating cost-effective deals with suppliers.
- Inspecting and verifying incoming and stored materials for quality and quantity.
- Developing and implementing inventory management systems that reduce wastage and optimize storage.
- Collaborating with other departments such as production, finance, and quality control to ensure that material requirements are met.
- Preparing detailed reports on inventory operations, stock levels, and adjustments for upper management and stakeholder review.
