Job summary

American Hospital Dubai is seeking a Clinical Coder to ensure accurate diagnosis and procedure coding in line with Dubai DHA e-claims guidelines. The role includes abstracting patient data from inpatient and outpatient encounters and supporting revenue cycle activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; medical background preferred.
• CCS or CPC certification is required or highly preferred.
• Experience with ICD-9-CM/ICD-10 coding.

Responsibilities

• Encode diagnoses and procedures using ICD coding according to guidelines.
• Create abstracts of demographics and medical data for reporting.
• Review statements and EMR data for accuracy and coding validity.
• Assign CPT codes at preauthorization and billing stages.
• Ensure coding specificity and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Communicate with physicians for clarifications as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and productivity in the coding department.
