Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Loan Processor to join our lending team. The Loan Processor will be responsible for managing loan applications from origination to closing, verifying applicant information, ensuring all required documents are complete, and coordinating with underwriters, loan officers, and third parties to facilitate smooth loan approvals and timely closings.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and process loan applications for completeness and accuracy.
- Verify borrower information including income, employment, credit history, and collateral documentation.
- Order and review third-party reports such as appraisals, title, credit reports, and insurance.
- Communicate with borrowers, loan officers, underwriters, and other stakeholders to gather required documents and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and submit loan files for underwriting review and approval.
- Monitor loan progress to ensure timely processing and meet closing deadlines.
- Ensure all documentation complies with internal policies and regulatory requirements (e.g., TRID, RESPA, TILA).
- Maintain accurate records and update loan tracking systems throughout the loan process.
- Assist with closing and post-closing activities when needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related field preferred.
- 2 years of experience in loan processing (mortgage, consumer, or commercial).
- Strong knowledge of loan documentation, credit analysis, and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with loan origination systems (e.g., Encompass, Calyx, Blend, etc.).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of federal and state lending regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with FHA, VA, USDA, and conventional loan products.
- Knowledge of automated underwriting systems (e.g., DU, LP).
- NMLS license is a plus but not required.
