The Post

ADNOC Schools is currently seeking Literacy Lead to join our growing family of owned and operated schools in the UAE. The current vacancy is based in ADNOC School, Ruwais Campus, located in the Western Region (Al Dhafra) of Abu Dhabi for August 2025 start.

ADNOC Schools are Massachusetts State Curriculum schools in superb facilities in Abu Dhabi City and the Western Region of Abu Dhabi Emirate.

The Massachusetts Curriculum is one of the most highly regarded and successful curricula in the United States, with close links to prestigious higher education institutions such as Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Responsibilities:

  • To assist middle and senior leaders to implement school policy and processes within the faculty in order to raise standards, rates of progress and attainment for all students including identified groups. Teaching and learning.
  • To record and analyse data in relation to the progress and attainment of all students and to use this data to improve teaching and learning and raise attainment.
  • To assist the middle and senior leaders in leading the improvement of teaching skills within the faculty and the wider school as required.
  • Assist middle and senior leaders in the development of teaching and learning in the faculty through coaching, mentoring, induction and retention of teachers.
  • Assist middle and senior leaders in the development of Teaching and Learning by devising and leading workshops, and professional development activities to develop all teaching staff to improve teaching and learning practice.
  • To contribute to the development of Teaching and Leaning by disseminating material and advising on practice, through research and your own professional development.
  • To advise on best practice in marking, methods of assessment and constructive feedback to develop individual and school practice.
  • To model best practice in accordance with all areas in order to raise standards.
  • To develop teaching and learning in all teaching staff through regular T&L reviews to include, lesson observations, work/mark book scrutiny, learning walks and feedback to provide constructive critique to improve lessons.
  • To be responsible for designing and subsequently running projects to improve cross-curricular teaching.
  • To have an ‘open house’ policy with regard to your own lessons so that staff can observe good practice as required.
  • To teach ‘demonstration’ lessons to model best practice in particular areas as identified and when required.
  • To work with faculty staff and others who are experiencing difficulties in the classroom to identify their development needs, collaboratively develop action plans and support the process of improvement.
  • To contribute significantly to the development of course outlines syllabuses and schemes of work.
  • To be responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young persons for whom the post holder is responsible or comes into contact with

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education/Elementary/Early Childhood Education
  • 6 years’ experience, including 4 consecutive years teaching performance exceeds standards and expectations as evidenced by Performance Appraisal
  • Experience of the American curriculum
  • A commitment to an extensive enrichment program
  • Recent and consistent involvement in extra-curricular activities
  • Respect for all members of your school community
  • Experience with students for whom English is an additional language
  • A positive and solution-focused attitude to working life
  • A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services or Police check
