A leading company in the energy retrofit sector is looking for a Lighting Estimation Engineer. You will manage the estimation process for lighting solutions, ensuring they meet energy performance goals. Job Overview
As a Lighting Estimation Engineer, you will lead the estimation process for lighting and control systems, including site audits, takeoffs, product selection, energy savings calculations, and technical submissions. This position supports Sharaf DG s expanding energy retrofit business by ensuring accurate and cost-effective lighting solutions aligned with ESCO performance goals.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead estimation and design for lighting scopes in energy retrofit and ESCO projects
* Conduct on-site or remote lighting audits and prepare detailed takeoffs and layouts
* Evaluate existing vs proposed systems for energy savings and ROI calculations
* Collaborate with energy engineers and sales teams for comprehensive proposal development
* Source, evaluate, and price lighting products and controls from manufacturers and vendors
* Prepare and submit lighting material submittals, drawings, and calculations
* Stay updated on energy codes and utility rebate programs
* Assist M&V teams with lux level validation and energy consumption reports
* Visit new construction and retrofit sites to assess lighting needs
* Train and mentor junior team members as the team scales
Job Requirements
* Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
* Minimum 5 years of experience in lighting estimation, preferably in ESCO or retrofit markets
* Proficient in lighting design software and Excel-based estimation tools
* Strong knowledge of commercial lighting systems and retrofit strategies
* Familiarity with ASHRAE 90.1, IECC, IES standards, and Title 24 compliance
* Experience with ERP or CRM platforms is a plus
* CMVP, CEM, or CEA certifications preferred
* Excellent analytical, technical, and project coordination skills
