Job description

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai within the Fitness & Wellness Department, the Lifeguard is responsible for maintaining a safe environment where guests can enjoy swimming without concerns about safety.

Responsibilities:

1. Act immediately and appropriately to ensure the safety of all guests in emergency situations.
2. Provide emergency care and treatment until emergency medical services arrive.
3. Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times, ensuring high standards of guest service.
4. Perform maintenance duties as per guidelines to keep the pool area clean and safe.
5. Pay attention to detail and arrange items according to standards.
6. Assist with cleaning the pool area outside of operating hours and maintain standards throughout the day.
7. Conduct duties with a friendly, professional attitude as required by the Fitness & Wellness Manager.
8. Interact courteously with guests, answering questions related to spa, wellness, and hotel services.
9. Assist in ensuring a smooth guest experience throughout their visit.
10. Proactively offer assistance to guests when needed.
11. Attend training to ensure compliance with relevant safety legislation and standards within the spa & wellness.
12. Participate in daily and monthly meetings as required.
13. Complete all training courses as deemed necessary and adhere to training protocols.
14. Act as a hotel ambassador at all times.
15. Perform any additional duties assigned by management related to hotel operations.
16. Maintain constant surveillance of guests in the pool area.

Candidate Requirements:

1. Senior School qualification or equivalent.
2. Certified lifesaving and lifeguarding recognized by the UAE.
3. Minimum of 1 year experience as a lifeguard.
4. Experience in a 5-star hotel environment is advantageous.
5. Experience working in the Middle East region is advantageous.
6. Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
7. Ability to understand guest needs and deliver excellent customer service.
8. Mature, outgoing personality with strong interpersonal skills.
