Job description

Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi is looking for a Lifeguard to join our Leisure team.

About the Job

Based at Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi within the Leisure Department, the Lifeguard is responsible for the safety and security of guests at the poolside. The Lifeguard reports to the Assistant Operations Manager.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring the safety of guests and staff within designated swimming areas during business hours.
• Holding a valid lifeguard certification from a recognized association.
• Performing artificial resuscitation (mouth-to-mouth), CPR, and using AED machines.
• Swimming 400 meters in 8 minutes to meet hotel standards.
• Setting up safety equipment, including floatation devices and flags.
• Supervising swimming activities and ensuring safety policies are followed.
• Responding to emergencies, rescues, and administering first aid as needed.
• Inspecting and maintaining pool and beach facilities and equipment.
• Ensuring hazardous areas are kept clear of boats and other watercraft.
• Reporting hazards and maintaining safety records.
• Adhering to hotel policies, safety regulations, and uniform standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Certification in lifeguarding, water rescue, and first aid.
• Previous experience in a resort or hotel environment preferred.
• Strong guest service orientation, reliability, alertness, and good communication skills.
