The Licensed Aircraft Engineer will carry out routine maintenance tasks and defect rectification of aircraft as per company and associated regulatory procedures.
In this role, you will:
- Carry out aircraft maintenance and servicing tasks in compliance with manufacturer and safety procedures. Ensure that assigned zones/aircraft are maintained as per latest revisions of approved authority Technical Publications such as Aircraft documentation, Technical Notices, Quality Notices, and Engineering Procedures Manual. Ensure that personal approvals/licenses are valid and applicable to aircraft types.
- Ensure all off-aircraft tasks (spares handling, robberies, hold items) are handled in compliance with company procedures and that the associated paperwork is complete for transparency. Determine if tooling/equipment used is serviceable and appropriate, using specialized tooling where required. Carry out troubleshooting procedures/tools for fault rectification efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Carry out component changes as necessary during troubleshooting or as directed by supervisor, following AMM, IPC, or other manufacturer/vendor documentation.
- Perform all activities in accordance with safety rules and regulations, adhering to company procedures. Highlight deficiencies or requirements through reporting tools to support quality improvements and safety culture. Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping at work locations.
- Maintain effective communication with colleagues, managers, and senior engineers to ensure smooth information flow and highlight operational issues. Complete reports related to service delays, incidents, and accidents in detail to facilitate rectification and maintenance planning.
- Manage staff performance using the performance review system, setting SMART goals, conducting reviews, and developing plans as per company procedures.
- Attend training/recurrent modules to enhance skills and ensure compliance with CAR 145, obtaining necessary approvals within 3.5 months of course completion.
- Be available for deployment within the EK operation, including diversionary airfields, to assist with AOG recovery, oversee final assembly, supervise outsourced maintenance, and support acceptance/delivery processes.
- Ensure prompt attendance to aircraft arrivals/departures to maximize ground time opportunities and prevent operational delays.
Specific Maintenance Control Centre
- Coordinate with Maintenance Control Duty Manager to manage all AOG situations and plan maintenance during delays or groundings.
- Support safe aircraft dispatch by liaising with engineering teams and external stakeholders, providing technical advice, and identifying spares requirements.
- Monitor aircraft health using available tools to evaluate fleet status and plan defect rectification at base or outstations.
Qualifications
- Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent).
- B.Eng in Aeronautical, Mechanical, Avionics, Electronic, or Maintenance Engineering License.
- 10+ years of engineering experience.
- 5+ years as certifying staff in engineering.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Minimum of 2 aircraft type approvals.
- Good understanding of air legislation and legal standards related to aircraft operation and maintenance.
