Job summary

PPOAR in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Librarian to manage daily library operations, catalog materials, assist users, and promote resources. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills and a customer‑oriented approach to information services.

The role requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and knowledge of modern library practices. Salary is 1300 AED/month with a benefits package and opportunities to contribute to service improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science or related field preferred but not required; equivalent experience may be considered
• Knowledge of current trends in libraries and electronic information services
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the library including cataloging, maintaining records, shelving books, and other duties as required
• Provide assistance and advice to library users in locating materials or using electronic resources
• Promote awareness of the resources available in the library through displays, workshops or other activities
• Update library materials as needed including adding new books and publications or removing outdated material
• Monitor usage of library materials and ensure proper handling of materials
• Ensure that all safety regulations are followed at all times
• Assist with administrative tasks such as budgeting or keeping records

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science

Knowledge of current trends in libraries and electronic information services

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
