Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Library Science is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills in English. Proficiency in other languages is a plus.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Basic knowledge of library classification systems is preferred but not required.
• No prior experience necessary; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist with checking books in and out, collecting fines, and issuing library cards.
• Help patrons find materials and provide basic reference services.
• Maintain the organization of library materials by shelving books, DVDs, CDs, and other items.
• Process new materials by labeling, stamping, and covering them.
• Assist with cataloging and indexing materials using the library's computer system.
• Assist with planning and implementing library programs and events.
• Maintain the cleanliness and order of the library space.
• Provide support to patrons using library equipment such as computers, printers, and photocopiers.
• Handle interlibrary loan requests and maintain records of borrowed items.
• Perform basic clerical tasks such as answering phone calls, responding to emails, and filing documents.
