Job summary

The Librarian position in Sharjah, UAE is a full-time role with a monthly salary of 1,200 AED. The successful candidate will manage the library's collections, assist patrons, and support research activities, while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of cataloguing practices such as MARC 21.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Library Science (Master's preferred). The role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team at our Sharjah

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field is required.
• Master's degree is preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of cataloguing systems such as MARC 21.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the library's collections by cataloguing, verifying and organizing materials according to established standards.
• Assist patrons with their research needs by providing reference services and advice on library resources.
• Check out books, magazines and other materials upon request.
• Update library databases with information about newly acquired materials.
• Train new volunteers or student assistants in the use of the library's resources and systems.
