Position: Librarian

Location: Dubai, UAE

Salary: 1800 AED/month

We are looking for a Librarian with excellent organizational and communication skills to join our team in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and organizing our library collection, including books, journals, magazines, newspapers, and other items. The Librarian will also be responsible for helping patrons find the resources they need and providing access to online resources.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Library Science or related field.
• Previous experience working in a library is preferred, but not necessary.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge of computers and digital media.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain library collection by selecting and cataloging new materials; organizing existing materials; weeding outdated materials; processing new acquisitions; updating records; tracking sources of new material; maintaining inventory levels; adhering to copyright regulations; recommending replacement items when needed.
• Prepare bibliographies and research guides for patrons in various subject areas as requested by staff or faculty members.
• Assist patrons in locating material within the library by providing reference services online or in person when requested.
• Oversee circulation desk activities including checking books in/out, issuing cards, collecting fines, etc., when necessary.
• Provide technical assistance to computer users accessing online databases or other electronic services such as the library catalog and other subscription services when required.
