Job summary

Woopel in Dubai is seeking a Librarian to join our team in Dubai. The role focuses on maintaining and organizing the library, assisting patrons, and ensuring smooth daily operations and cataloging processes.

The successful candidate will perform budget tasks, support research activities, and help manage and preserve the library's resources, while ensuring equipment and facilities are well maintained for a productive environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Library Science or similar field required.
• Experience in a library setting preferred but not necessary.
• Knowledge of MARC or OCLC is advantageous.
• Good written and verbal communication skills essential.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, organize and update the library collection daily.
• Develop and manage library budget.
• Assist patrons with research, book selection, circulation and reference services.
• Catalog new materials and update existing records when needed.
• Ensure proper maintenance of library equipment and facilities including furniture, computers, printers, etc.
• Create and maintain library databases such as catalogs for books, periodicals, videos, etc.
