Job summary

Ecojob in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Librarian to manage library operations and ensure smooth daily functions. The role involves overseeing activities, assisting patrons, maintaining the collection, and developing library policies.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and knowledge of library information systems and resources. Prior library experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Library Science or related field.
• Experience in a library setting is preferred but not required.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of electronic information systems used in libraries.
• Knowledgeable about popular books, authors, and resources.
• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Oversee library activities and operations.
• Provide instruction to patrons on how to use the library.
• Maintain the library’s collection of books and other materials.
• Develop policies and procedures related to library services.
• Research new resources to add to the collection.
• Assist with cataloging new materials into the system.
• Organize events such as book readings or author visits.
