THE POST

ADNOC Schools is currently seeking a Librarian for an immediate start. The current vacancy is based in ADNOC School Ruwais Campus, Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Responsibilities :

· The Librarian is responsible for maintaining and operating the Library Management System (LMS) – Follett Destiny. This will involve the uploading /inputting of all patron information, accurately on Destiny, circulating the collection, and cataloging locally obtained Library resources.

· Responsible for the training of the Library Assistant on the LMS, processing of resources, and any other duties relevant to the post.

· Maintain the environment of the Library and Independent Learning Centre (ILC) through displays, information posters, and brochures. Encourage users to respect the Library space and suggest ways that it can be improved.

· Manage the Library Instruction Lab. Maintain an updated booking system. Ensure that the equipment and facilities are operational.

· Promote the use of Destiny Quest, the end-user interface for the Library Catalogue, through professional development sessions with Faculty and scheduled sessions with students.

· Promote the use of the Library subscribed online databases.

· Schedule and implement Library Orientation sessions for both faculty and students at the beginning of the academic year, reinforcing the Library Use Guidelines throughout the academic year through contact with Advisors, Academic Supervisors, and the Dean of Students.

· Liaise with the Academic Departments in the development and implementation of scheduled instruction sessions on Library Skills (Upper Primary, Middle Schools) and Information and Research Skills for all High School students.

· Disseminate information regarding newly acquired resources, potential acquisitions/subscriptions to Academic Department Heads.

· Report any infraction of the Library Use Guidelines or more generally the ADNOC Schools Code of Conduct to the Dean of Students using the established procedures.

· Report any maintenance issues to the General Services Division.

  • · Identify stationery and equipment requirements and use the established procurement procedures to order them.

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Library & Information Science.

Minimum Experience

  • At least three years relevant experience in Libraries or Learning Resource Centers. Experience in dealing with children and/or young adults, including experience in analysis, design, and networking.
