Job description

  • Prepare, review, and manage documentation for import/export shipments including invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and customs declarations
  • Coordinate bookings with freight forwarders and shipping lines for sea, air, and land transport
  • Ensure all shipping documents comply with local and international regulations

Customs & Compliance

  • Liaise with customs brokers, port authorities, and government agencies to ensure timely clearance
  • Monitor compliance with import/export laws, sanctions, and trade restrictions
  • Maintain up-to-date HS codes, duty structures, and tariff classifications

Logistics Coordination

  • Track and manage shipments from origin to destination, ensuring timely delivery
  • Coordinate with warehouse, procurement, sales, and finance teams regarding shipment status and inventory movement
  • Manage shipping schedules and resolve issues related to delays or damages
  • Build relationships with logistics service providers and negotiate freight rates
  • Manage performance of carriers and ensure service level agreements are met
  • Resolve discrepancies or claims related to logistics operations

Reporting & Recordkeeping

  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, costs, and documentation
  • Prepare weekly/monthly logistics performance reports and customs summaries
  • Ensure data is updated in ERP or logistics systems (SAP, Oracle, Tally, etc.)
