Qualifications

About Us

DMCC is a government entity established in 2002 to enhance commodity trade flows through Dubai. We perform a range of roles which continue to position Dubai as the preferred destination for global commodities trade and DMCC as the world's No.1 Free Zone.

Company Profile:

  • The Legal Officer's will support the Director of Legal and member of DMCC Legal to deliver projects independently and/or within DMCC Legal team.
  • It is an important support role within DMCC Legal to ensure legal compliance and risk mitigation internally to all BUs and in representing DMCC externally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work under the supervision of senior employees of the DMCC Legal team to conduct legal research, preparing legal opinions and reports.
  • Develop and enhance competencies in communication and commercial awareness.
  • Support DMCC Legal team with preparation, review and approval of all low risk contracts, including commercial contracts, MoUs, collaboration agreements and NDAs generated by all DMCC's BUs:
  • Commodities
  • Free Zone
  • Corporate (Marketing, IT, HR, Finance etc.)
  • Property
  • Support with draft and review of basic legal notices and contracts as delegated from DMCC Legal team from time to time.
  • Support with managing Contract Approval Process in accordance with:
  • Authorisation Matrix
  • Risk Classification Matrix
  • Legal Policy & Procedures
  • Quality and quantity of output based on feedback from BUs and Legal Department personnel.
  • Support DMCC Legal with team with the managing, developing, updating and storing of contract templates across all BUs.

Support Admin and DMCC Legal team with:

  • Administration of legal invoices and quotations as requested.
  • Updating various legal trackers and task lists as requested.
  • Budget process, JF creation and approvals as requested.
  • Managing group holiday and work from home Excel schedule as requested.
  • Preparing quarterly, half yearly and annual reports (ops, strategic and budget) as requested.
  • Coordinating DMCC Legal Briefings and other communications.
  • Attend training classes to expand and/or develop their legal and technical knowledge and give them basic information about the various sectors of DMCC including commodities, free zone operations, corporate and real estate, etc.
  • Develop planning, organizational and time management skills.
  • Increase knowledge of computer skills and technology.
  • Develop team-based work competencies.
  • Develop interpersonal skills in order to communicate with others in the workplace.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree holder in Law and qualified to practice law (graduated within the last 2 years) with a GPA of 2.5 and higher.
  • Up to 2 years experience.
  • Strong understanding of their respective discipline.
