Job Description
Responsibilities
- Review, study, and analyse the legislation currently in force in the Emirate of Dubai in order to identify legislative gaps and determine provisions requiring the issuance of implementing instruments to ensure effective enforcement.
- Prepare legislative oversight reports on the extent to which government entities and local authorities within the Emirate have correctly applied the relevant legislation.
- Monitor and determine the rates of legislative compliance by the Dubai Government entities and local authorities at the end of each year, based on the legislative audit reports.
- Review the legislation currently in force in the Emirate, prepare reports on their efficiency and effectiveness based on post-implementation assessment, and propose their amendment or repeal where required.
- Study and analyse reports received from the SLC General Secretariat’s strategic partners, particularly regulatory bodies, concerning legislative violations committed by government and local authorities in the Emirate, and prepare the related legal correspondence.
- Receive and manage cases, complaints, and observations submitted via the Legislative Audit Directorate hotline concerning legislative violations committed by government entities, and cases of improper implementation of the legislation in force in the Emirate; prepare the relevant legal correspondence to concerned government entities to address and remedy these violations.
- Monitor and actively follow up on news reports and conduct thorough fact-finding investigations to ensure government entities in the Emirate are correctly implementing the legislation in force.
