Job Purpose :

A Legal Officer is responsible for overseeing the legal aspects of an organization. Their main role is to ensure that the company complies with laws and regulations while minimizing legal risks.

Responsibilities :
  1. Legal Compliance : Ensuring the organization follows all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  2. Contracts and Agreements : Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  3. Legal Advice : Providing legal advice to management and other departments on various legal matters, including employment law, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance.
  4. Risk Management : Identifying potential legal risks and advising on risk mitigation strategies.
  5. Dispute Resolution : Managing legal disputes, including litigation and arbitration, and liaising with external legal counsel when necessary.
  6. Corporate Governance : Ensuring proper corporate governance practices are in place, including compliance with board requirements and shareholder agreements.
  7. Policy Development : Assisting in developing and implementing internal policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance.

Qualifications :
