Legal Counsel, Environmental Impact

An Abu Dhabi based investment management group with a strong influence into environmental protection, is creating and financing nature based solutions in emerging markets territories.

You will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team with deep expertise across commodity trading, project finance, investment management, and climate policy. You’ll have exposure to international markets, direct impact on scaling climate solutions, and significant opportunities for personal and professional growth.

What you’ll be doing:

·Support legal due diligence for investment transactions, including project financings and offtake agreements.

·Review, draft and amend contracts related to trading frameworks.

·Conduct legal and policy research on regulatory developments related to corporate, financial services, and trading markets.

·Assist in preparation of internal corporate documents such as board resolutions, shareholder agreements, and service provider contracts.

·Monitor evolving laws, industry standards, and policy trends relevant to trading markets, financial regulation, and environmental commodities.

Who you’ll likely need to be in order to succeed:

Whilst there is a degree of flexibility, there are some core guidelines that make the backbone of the client expectations:

  • England and Wales qualified, with a PQE guideline of at least 2+, and probably no more than 8 years.
  • Generalist skill set across commercial, corporate, transactions, and / or financial services work.
  • Exposure to financial services trading and regulated financial markets is ideal.
  • Current UAE residence will be preferred but very suitable overseas applicants will also be considered.
  • Strong interest and commitment to climate change initiatives.
