Job Description

Lead the development and drafting of an appropriate Legislation, Policy framework for the Authority, while ensuring implementation is in alignment with local and federal legislation and international standards governing 8 principles of Dubai and to provide advice and commentary on legislative matters which impact the Authority, master developers and the free zone.

-Oversee and assure that the implementation and independent enforcement of applicable AML/CFT laws, regulations and policies in the free zone, in line with the requirements and recommendations of the international advisory body (FATF).

-Manage the preparation of guidelines on new federal and local legislation impacting the Authority, the jurisdiction, master developers and other stakeholders.

-Benchmark new and/or updated legislation, laws and regulations of other jurisdictions in the UAE and internationally to recommend changes to the regulatory framework of the Authority.

-Govern the preparation of requests for legal opinion from the relevant governmental committee on the application of legislation in the zone and ensure outcomes are documented accordingly.

Desired Candidate Profile

- A Bachelor’s Degree in Law; Master’s of Law an added value

- A minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role with at least 5 years of Management experience.

- Knowledge of free zone laws, rules, and regulations in the region

- Excellent English & Arabic languages (both in oral & written communications)

- Excellent interpersonal skills

- Analytical thinking and attention to detail
